Participation in a Study

The following opportunities are available for individuals interested in participating in an AT Lab research project.

Do you know a child who would enjoy playing with a robot?

We are developing a way to control assistive robots that will tell the user what the robot is touching. We think it will help children develop perceptual skills. Study participation includes playing with robots and toys.

Participant criteria:

  • Child is developmentally between the ages of 5 or older
  • Child has motor difficulties and cannot manipulate toys with his/her hands
  • Child does not have significant visual and/or hearing impairment

Time: 1, 2 ,or 3 sessions – about an hour long
Place: Assistive Technology Lab, Corbett Hall, 3-59, University of Alberta

Please contact Kim Adams at kim.adams@ualberta.ca or (780)492.5422 if you are interested in volunteering and let us know when you and your child are available.
